CVD Acquires Equity Position in ACS as it Gains Momentum in the Self-Service Kiosk Market

CVD takes an ownership stake in ACS and will drive procurement, sales and marketing efforts of self-service, interactive paint kiosk solutions into the 19+ Billion Dollar Architectural Coatings Industry.

Santa Ana, Calif. June 29, 2007 - CVD, a Premier Solution Provider to the Digital Display Market, announced today that they have acquired an equity position in ACS, Inc., headquartered in Santa Ana, California.  ACS, best known for their innovative paint-dispensing self-service kiosk, brings their materials engineering expertise and position in the home improvement market to join forces with CVD, a leader in Customized Kiosk Design Solutions.

Together, CVD and ACS will offer an interactive paint-dispensing kiosk that works like a vending machine, dispensing paint into a container that works as the applicator. Using an interactive, touchscreen interface, customers will be able to create and/or select any paint color and take a sample applicator home to test in their unique environment. “Leveraging CVD’s physical infrastructure and organization, we will provide procurement, manufacturing, installation, warranty/repair and help desk services that are critical to the success of large-scale kiosk implementations. CVD will provide a dedicated 800 number and manage all aspects of the design and procurement of kiosk components, with ACS driving sales and marketing efforts under the leadership of Timothy Weeks, CEO and Founder of ACS, who brings to the table over 20 years of sales experience in the Home Improvement market,” concluded O’Brien.

“Incorporating this kiosk into paint manufacturers’ existing programs really completes the color selection process.  We have spent thousands of man hours in the development of this system, using our expertise in materials engineering and architectural coatings,” stated Timothy Weeks, Founder and CEO of ACS. “By partnering with CVD, we have been able to develop a highly functional supply chain that ensures our success in launching this product into the market place,” concluded Weeks.

Target markets for this innovative paint-dispensing kiosk solution include Big Box Retailers, Paint and Hardware Stores, Discounters, Home Builders, Decorators and any and all locations that sell Home Décor goods.  CVD and ACS have formed strategic end-to-end alliances to develop and support the solution including custom thermal printer developed by MicroCom, patent pending paint applicator and paint dispensing system, as well as remote management and field support.

"We are excited about the opportunity to reach even more customers with our paint-dispensing kiosk solution by partnering with CVD in the fast-growing self-service kiosk market," continued Timothy Weeks. "ACS is an innovator in the Architectural Coatings industry, and CVD is a leader in large-scale kiosk implementations, which positions us well within the booming Home Improvement market estimated to be 19 Billion dollars and growing rapidly.   Together we will offer a one-of-a kind virtual paint store without the high carrying costs of inventory through our joint kiosk solution.” concluded Weeks.
